Five Wellbeing Tips For The New Year

Happy New Year! With the start of a new year comes the need to reevaluate, reorganize and reassess as well as set goals for the new year. Wellbeing might not be one of your current priorities but 2024 is the perfect time to start new, productive habits. Here are five simple tips to inspire you to focus more of your energy on yourself this year - you deserve it!

Meditation

Meditation has been practiced by various groups around the world for centuries. Breathing meditation techniques have been proven to help reduce the effects of anxiety and insomnia. Don’t worry if you have a busy schedule as the techniques are easy to implement and can even be used at your desk. If you have more time, light a calming scented candle and relax.

 Nights Sleep

We all know that a good nights sleep is beneficial for not only your physical health but also your mental health. As well as breathing meditation, switching off your phone before bed, swapping light airy curtains to blackout blinds and unwinding after a stressful day can all help you drift off.

Me-Time

January blues and post-holiday stress can only mean one thing, me time is in order! Me time can be spending quality time with friends, taking time to learn a new skill or indulging in a duvet day. A found that nearly 80% of Americans find it difficult to relax during the holiday season so why not focus on yourself and your wellbeing after the holiday stress. A cozy selection of new luxe loungewear is the perfect me time treat for those important duvet days.

Yoga and Exercising

Yoga and exercising are great ways of boosting endorphins which trigger a positive feeling in the body and can reduce the perception of pain. Even though exercising during the winter months isn’t something most of us want to do, the endorphin boost and benefits for your physical and mental health are worth it. However, if you’d rather stay warm and cozy, you could try eating a small amount of dark chocolate, meditating and laughing, all of which are easy ways of boosting endorphins - I know which activities I’ll be choosing.

Spend Time In Nature

Spending time outdoors, whether it’s a leisurely stroll through the park or hiking with friends, can be great for your mood, wellbeing, mental health and energy levels. Starting new habits, such as spending time outdoors once a week, are ideal small goals to kick off the new year but make sure you warm up with a relaxing tea or coffee afterwords and a good book.
